I've had a working macOS VM for several years, but the upgrade from 12 to 13 has been repeatedly unsuccessful, previously in Workstation Pro 16, and now in Workstation Pro 17. (Which is logical, as this is a global issue due to old Intel LAN chips support removed.) Please note changing VMware Workstation Networking from my usual Bridged to NAT does not help. vmx file to change the LAN adapter type/brand to something that works/could work? no Internet, no way to use Apple's App Store/etc.Īny way to "inject" the missing network(ing) driver(s)/kext(s) to add Networking back? This means the VM is basically unusable, no way to download extra web browsers Chrome, Firefox, Opera, MS Edge/etc, no way to open any websites i.e. Seems Apple dropped some Intel WiFi/LAN adapters that are too old, i.e. )īut macOS Ventura Beta seems to be another matter.Ģ) On the newer Intel Haswell laptop, it sorts of works but Networking is "missing in action". On this same desktop PC, I have VMware virtual machines ALL of macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion up to latest macOS Monterey 12.4, mostly all running fine. When I try it on my Core i5 Ivy Bridge, I get a constant Apple logo reboot loop i.e. Old ones include Intel Sandy Bridge (do not use) + Ivy Bridge CPUs (still use!). I am nowhere near the new ones, so that is not any problem for me, but seem to be affected by the old ones dropped. In my case, both my VMware computers - Intel Haswell on a HP Workstation laptop, and older Intel Ivy Bridge desktop PC - both run Windows 11 OS.)ġ) This new macOS Beta drops support for some too old, plus some too new Intel CPUs.

(I have 32 GB of DDR3 RAM here on both my VMware machines. More exactly, I mean using VMware Workstation 16.2.x running on a Host OS of Windows 10, or Windows 11 64-bit, with at least 16 GB of RAM? And using the macOS Unlocker, so that the Mac VMs work. I mean latest 22A5286j, Beta 2 Build, direct download link for that being here:
